Abstract
[From the introduction]. This paper deals with political integration in the European Community. The purpose is to determine whether it is possible to classify the European Court of Justice as an integrating institution as opposed to an international institution such as the world court. To accomplish this task will require precise definition of what integrating institutions and international institutions are through comparison and contrast of the two and an definition of what I mean by integration and effectiveness. The final step will be to measure how effective the European court is in the advancement of integration.
