    Abstract

THIS paper contains an introduction followed,by four main sections which are as follows: (I) Detailed discussion of the model used. (2) The I’968 experiments. (3) The I975 experiments. (4) Conclusions. It isexplained in the introduction that the paper is a suitable illustration of how an input-output table can be used with linear programming~ (LP) techniques so as to measure the economic structure required ~to give full employment of a specified labour force and simultaneously to maximise household expenditure for a given import surpluS. The emphasis is on methodology and illustration rather than on precise estimation of economic structure. The intention is to stimulate discussion. The previous input-output models of Geary and Simpson are described briefly. There is a short account of how the 1968 fulLemployment economic structure is approached via LP techniques
