Abstract
Right-wing extremist Jurgen Conings has been on the loose for two weeks, raising fundamental questions about radicalisation in the armed forces notably. Some Members of Parliament have proposed to merge the two national intelligence services, as a reaction to this alleged “fiasco”. This short opinion published in Le Soir argues that merging intelligence services is not only unnecessary, but also counter-productive.
