    Abstract

    This essay gives an overview of the debate on the draft laws regarding single permanent contract, also giving account of the debate in the European Union, as well as recent legislative experiences in France. Links with dismissal current rules are also considered. The Author believes that the introduction of this kind of contract would have effects hardly consistent with Italian labour law system.
