Abstract
It is a real pleasure to be here to give this talk in honour of Roy Geary, who was one of Ireland’s greatest economists of the twentiety century and one who has made lasting contributions of which every student of economics is aware. My topic for this Geary lecture is ‘Making Globalisation Work’, and I want to preface my remarks by talking about a question I am often asked – how did I come to write my book entitled Making Globalisation Work?
