    Abstract

200 years ago, Napoleon’s dreams of a new European order dominated by France died on the battlefield, in Waterloo. As we commemorate the anniversary of this epic battle, we can also draw some parallels with today’s troubled times. This article was first published on the blog Reshaping Europe. A translated version of this article was also published in Le Soir newspaper (in French), on 17 June, under the title ‘Quel Waterloo au 21e siècle?‘
