Abstract
The US and China concluded a major cybersecurity agreement during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Washington, on 25 September. This agreement, which includes some commitments and enforcing mechanisms, is a good illustration of so-called ‘cyber-diplomacy’. This short commentary explains what is cyber-diplomacy and why it is on the rise, before looking at Europe’s response to this trend.
