    Abstract

[Introduction]. Agriculture becomes more and more crucial in keeping world trade relations on a firm basis. The present paper aims to give a broad outline of the main agricultural issues expected to be raised in the framework of the multilateral trade negotiations under the next WTO round. Since the EU represents one of the principal actors in the world agricultural trade, it is believed that the EU position on these issues will affect not only the content but most probably the outcome also of the negotiations. This paper will try to present the EU approach in the forthcoming negotiations in relation to the priorities identified and set recently by the EU.
