Abstract
The department commissioned the Economic and Social Research Institute to carry out research around Northern ireland inputs to Republic of Ireland EU FTA (free trade agreement) exports. This report examines cross-border trade in Ireland from the perspective of the supply chain participation of Northern Ireland inputs into onward exports from Ireland to countries that have free trade agreements with the European Union. The aim of the report is to give an initial assessment of the potential exposure to any changes in the extent of access of Northern Ireland to these onward trading agreements once the Brexit transition period ends.
