Abstract

This paper sketches Gino Giugni’s political engagement in the Fifties and Sixties. In his view the growth of the trade unions and their capacity of limiting the entrepreneurial power through collective bargaining and the joint administration of the agreements was the main element for the improvement of the working class. Hence he criticized the current experience of collective bargaining solely at national level. In the Sixties the participation of the Socialist Party in the government put in the legislative agenda the issue of a workers’statute. The paper analizes Giugni’s influence on legislation.
