  • The Archive of European Integration (AEI) is a repository and archive [free to everyone] containing materials relevant to the topic of post-World War II integration in Europe. Its focus is the post-War development, activities, and foreign relations of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom), the European Economic Community (EEC), the European Community (EC), and the European Union (EU). The AEI contains materials from three sources.

    • First, the institutions listed above. EU websites contain a huge number of documents, a significant percentage of which were published since 1995. The AEI is designed to be complementary to those EU websites. With some exceptions, the AEI contains documents not available on EU websites.
    • Second, private research institutions listed in Contributing Institutions [http://aei.pitt.edu/contributors.html], all of whom have agreed to have their publications placed on the AEI.
    • Third, individuals with no required affiliation with a research institution.
